1950-1954 In 1950, Héctor Varela and with him Armando Laborde and Alberto San Miguel leave D'Arienzo to form their own orchestra. It is not clear what happened to the other bandoneonists but the whole section is renewed: Enrique Alessio, Eladio Blanco, Carlos Lazzari (arranger, later also director of "Los Solistas" and the in memoriam "Orquesta Juan D'Arienzo" from the eighties), Felipe Ricciardi, Aldo Junnissi. Two years later Armando Laborde returns to the D'Arienzo orchestra. Technology update: for a long time, since the transition from acoustic to electric recording in 1926, recording technology hadn't changed drastically. But now, from 1953-1954 on, recording onto magnetic tape is introduced, this intermediate medium between recording and master production will open new possibilities. |

reference to this unedited recording could be found in the Armando
Laborde discography by R.G. Miglio (it is also absent in the Baba
collection). It was edited for the first time in the RCA-Archivo series
by Euro Records : "Juan D'Arienzo con Libertad Lamarque, Alberto
