El Espejo de tus Ojos
(vals)
Composer: Mario Perini
Lyrics: Angel Vargas
Grabado por Angel D'Agostino con su vocalista ANGEL VARGAS y su
típica y por ALBERTO
CASTILLO con su orquesta que dirige el
maestro ... [text too small to read]
In spite of the chronology match (Angel D'Agostino and Angel Vargas
recorded this vals in 1944, the year when Alberto Castillo went solo),
the Castillo recording remains undocumented. It is a pity that his
director cannot be indentified but the names of Emilio Balcarce and
Enrique Alessio (with whom he worked between 1944 and 1947) don't seem
to fit.
Although not explicitly mentioned, but for the sake of the statistics
mentioned in the introduction: at that time D'Agostino/Vargas recorded
for Víctor and Castillo for Odeon.

The Quiroga recording remains undocumented. Insufficient
data to comment on the Irusta recording (which is unknown to me).

Esquinero (tango)
Composer: Pedro Laurenz
GRABADO por PICHUCO y QUINTETO REAL en
C.B.S. Columbia
The Troilo recording remains undocumented (and if it were documented,
certainly not on C.B.S. Columbia, a label for which Pichuco never
recorded). The Quinteto Real recording is not known to me but I cannot
exclude its existence. "Esquinero" was recorded by the Pedro Laurenz
Quinteto, in 1966, for the Microfon label. At that time Laurenz was
also the bandoneonist of the Quinteto Real.

Esta Noche Al Pasar (tango)
Composer: Héctor Grané
Lyrics: Ricardo Thompson
Grabado en discos por las
orquestas de CARLOS DI SARLI con
su cantor RAUL POSADAS y
PEDRO LAURENZ
con su cantor JORGE LINARES
Well known Laurenz recording from 1944 but the Di Sarli
recording remains undocumented. Although Raúl Posadas
effectively sang in the Di Sarli orchestra, there are no known
recordings with him. Sideways: the cover also mentions that it was a great success of Osvaldo [sic] Donato with
Horacio Lagos.
